Blood Bank
No matter your blood type, you can draw on our experience.
Baltimore Washington Medical Center runs a full-service blood bank, collecting, testing and processing blood for BWMC patients. The blood bank accepts the following donations:
Autologous - patients donate their own blood for surgery
Allogeneic - banked blood that stays at BWMC
As an affiliate of the University of Maryland Medical System, BWMC also participates throughout the year in blood drives for the American Red Cross. For more information or to schedule a donation, please call the donor room between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. at 410-553-2942.
