Diabetes and Nutrition Education

The Joslin Diabetes Center offers diabetes education programs to help you take control of your disease, prevent complications and minimize unnecessary hospitalization. The programs offered include:

  1. Diabetes Today - for people who are newly diagnosed with diabetes
  2. Diabetes Self Management - classes for those who have had diabetes for more than five years
  3. Flexible Insulin Therapy - for people who want to gain more control of their use of insulin

The Joslin Circle is a monthly support group that's also available for people with diabetes and their family to learn how to live with the disease. For more information, call 410-787-4940.

Nutrition Counseling
Because a healthy, appropriate diet is such an important part of treating and living with diabetes, nutrition counseling is provided to patients and those who live with them. Conversation maps, the most up-to-date education design in diabetes, are used to engage patients in conversations that facilitate discovery learning. For more information or to make an appointment, call 410-787-4940.
