FAQs

Q:What are the visiting hours for parents on the pediatric unit?
A:Parents are encouraged to stay with their children as much as possible during the day. However, due to space constraints and in the interest of making sure that at least one parent gets a reasonable night's sleep, only one parent will be allowed to remain with their child from midnight to 8 a.m. A recliner chair will be provided for whichever parent stays during that time.
Q:What are the visiting hours for people other than parents?
A:For all others, visiting hours are until 8:30 p.m. Visitors must be free from colds, flu, rashes or any other communicable disease. Patients may not be left alone with anyone under the age of 18.
Q:What if my child is hospitalized for an extended amount of time and they miss school?
A:It is the policy of BWMC to ensure that a referral is made to the appropriate school system in order to assure the educational needs of the child are met when required treatment necessitates a school absence longer than 14 days. Parents will be provided with information on this issue at their request.
