Laboratory

First thing you'll notice is how our lab is transfused with care.

Baltimore Washington Medical Center's state-of-the art laboratory includes chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, anatomic pathology and blood bank services to all inpatients and outpatient areas. All laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologist using CLIA federal guidelines. A variety of procedures are performed in the laboratories on patients that range in age from infancy to elderly adults. The laboratory staff includes certified medical technologists, medical technicians, cytotechnologists, histotechnologists, technicians, phlebotomists and licensed pathologists.

The clinical laboratory and blood bank provides services 24 hours a day while our pathology laboratory provides services from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and is on-call after hours.
