Calcium chloride/magnesium chloride/potassium chloride/sodium chloride (Irrigation)
Introduction
Calcium Chloride (KAL-see-um KLOR-ide), Magnesium Chloride (mag-NEE-zee-um KLOR-ide), Potassium Chloride (poe-TAS-ee-um KLOR-ide), Sodium Chloride (SOE-dee-um KLOR-ide)
Temporarily stops the beating of the heart during open heart surgery. This medicine is used together with sodium bicarbonate.

Plegisol
When This Medicine Should Not Be Used

How to Use This Medicine
Liquid
- A nurse or other trained health professional will give you this medicine.

Warnings While Using This Medicine
- Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing.
- Chest pain.
- Irregular heartbeat.
