Enfermedad inflamatoria del intestino

La enfermedad de Crohn, también denominada enteritis regional, es una inflamación crónica de los intestinos que por lo general se limita a la porción final del intestino delgado, el íleon. La colitis ulcerativa es una inflamación similar del colon o intestino grueso. Estas y otras EII (enfermedades inflamatorias del intestino) se han vinculado con un incremento en el riesgo de cáncer colorrectal.
