The skilled physicians of the medical oncology teams at the Tate Cancer Center provide consultations, cancer treatments and continuous follow-up care and support services for cancer management, often serving as the primary health provider for someone who has cancer. They are board certified and specialize in diagnosing and treating cancer using chemotherapy, targeted therapy and hormonal therapy.
The medical oncologists work with other specialists who focus on specific types of cancer to coordinate the overall treatment plan and provide supportive care. The Tate Cancer Center’s multidisciplinary approach to cancer care combines the services provided by medical, radiation and surgical oncologists to achieve an optimal personalized treatment plan.
Our team of physicians and nurses are dedicated to providing unparalleled service to our patients. For new patients starting therapy, our oncology certified nurses provide education and help get them acquainted and comfortable. Our nurses are highly skilled at the technical aspects of treatment, while being open, accessible and warmhearted. Patients spend a large amount of their treatment time with the nursing staff, so we know that receiving therapy in a pleasant environment with caring, compassionate health professionals is key to navigating the treatment journey.
Chemotherapy is administered in special suites with reclining chairs and TVs to make treatment as comfortable as possible for patients and their families. Along with the experienced nursing staff, our medical oncologists work closely with patients to provide consultations, expert treatment and follow-up care for cancer.
