How important is the Blue Distinction Center designation? How important is your spine?
The Baltimore Washington Spine and Neuroscience Center uses minimally invasive techniques and pain management therapies to provide state-of-the-art, comprehensive spine care. Practitioners include spinal surgeons, anesthesiologists, physiatrists, physical therapists and nurse practitioners to coordinate the most advanced and modern treatments currently available.
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) designated BWMC as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. The distinctions are awarded to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality healthcare.
The center offers:
- A comprehensive approach to care through evaluation and the development of an effective treatment plan
- A multidisciplinary approach that considers all treatment options before a surgical decision is made
- Fellowship-trained and board-certified/board-eligible orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and specialty-trained pain practitioners
- A dedicated nurse practitioner who coordinates inpatient care and support services
