Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers claim they get more than they give. But they sure give us a lot.

Baltimore Washington Medical Center's Volunteer Program is service-based and dedicates hours to most departments within the medical center. Opportunities are available for anyone 15 years of age (and in the 9th grade) and older. Duties range from escorting patients and visitors, filing, entertaining patients with games and puzzles, answering the phone and running errands to other departments. Volunteers can also assist medical floors through Serving Spoons, a program that trains individuals to help feed patients. We seek energetic and positive people who want to make a difference in their community.

BWMC Volunteer Coordinator Andrea Lynn can be reached at 410-553-8103 or via e-mail at alynn@bwmc.umms.org. Volunteer applications can be mailed to:

BWMC
Attn: Andrea Lynn
301 Hospital Drive

We are now accepting applications. Click here to apply.

Auxiliary

The Baltimore Washington Medical Center Auxiliary promotes and advances the welfare of Baltimore Washington Medical Center by sponsoring many fundraising activities throughout the year, such as book sales and fashion shows, and by managing the hospital's gift shop. Auxiliary members also serve in different areas of the hospital, such as the Gift Shop, Mailroom and Business Office as well as Patient Advocates in the Emergency Room (PAINTERs), who serve as liaisons between Emergency Department (ED) staff, patients and families. They also circulate among patients in the ED and ensure that the patients and their loved ones remain informed. All money raised by the Auxiliary helps the hospital spread its service to the community.

To reach the Auxiliary, please call 410-787-4504.
